The Westwood Area Chamber of Commerce’s big, annual Paul Bunyan Mountain and Blues Festival takes place July 10th and 11th, featuring live music, a logging show, a parade, a fun-run and much, much more!

The weekend begins with a downtown street dance Friday evening featuring music by the northern California favorites Forgery. The three-hour dance is free and starts at 8:00p.m. in front of the railroad depot.

Saturday’s fun activities include Breakfast by the WHS ASB Clubs at 8:00a.m. in the Community Center, a Fun Run at 8:00 and the parade, which begins at 10:30a.m. at 3rd and Ash streets. The theme of this year’s parade is “Red, White and Blue for 250 years.”

Mountain and Blues Festival in the Park

Festival gates open at 11:00a.m. in Westwood Park, Greenwood and 2nd streets, and will feature a logging show, antiques, crafts, collectibles, a kid’s area and Blue Ox Bingo. Gate entry is $10 for all ages except kids 10 and under who get in for just $5.

The children’s area is not included in admission prices. Organizers warn that this is not a dog-friendly event.

Two bands will be providing some awesome blues music for the afternoon: Rowland and Tumblin’ from 12:00 until 2:00 and Riggid from 2:30 to 4:30.
